CATS Prepares for Winter Weather: Gold Line Service Suspended, Blue Line and Bus Services to Operate on Sunday Schedule

Due to anticipated weather conditions this weekend, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will operate on a Sunday schedule tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 31, for bus and Blue Line. Gold Line service will be suspended.

Please visit the bus schedules webpage and rail schedules webpage to view Sunday service schedules.

CATS Service Update: Modified Monday Schedule (Feb. 2)

Due to continued hazardous road conditions across the Charlotte region, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will delay the start of bus and Blue Line services Monday, Feb. 2, until noon. Bus service will operate on detours. Updated route information can be found by clicking this link: View the Inclement Weather Alerts.

Due to the late start time, Express Bus service is suspended. CATS Micro services will begin operating at noon and end at 6 p.m. The Gold Line remains suspended at this time. Special Transportation Services remain operational, and team members will continue to work with customers directly.

CATS teams continue to clear transit facilities, rail platforms, bus stops and other transit infrastructure.

As customers travel using transit, they a reminded to use extra caution at bus stops and station platforms due to snow drifts and slippery conditions.

CATS is asking the community to lend a helping hand. If a bus stop in your neighborhood needs snow removal, please clear a path that will allow your neighbors to find the bus stop safely.

Please note, the February Service Change is still scheduled to go into effect Monday, Feb. 2. You can find the changes at this link: https://www.charlottenc.gov/CATS/Ride/Bus/Service-Change.

CATS will continue to provide updates as needed on the CATS-Pass app and official CATS X and Facebook accounts.

For questions or concerns, community members can speak to CATS Customer Service at 704-336-7433.
