NEWS

Your News of Davidson Team thinks about you all through the year, and never more so than during the Valentine’s month. Putting our hearts into this work, we hope to give you the news and information you need to explore, understand, and participate in the rich life of our town.

We ask that you support our work so that we may offer you - our town’s citizens, nonprofits, and businesses - our support by publishing all of your news and information free of charge.

Over the last few weeks alone, we have brought you numerous in-depth reports, interviews, and information. And we present one-of-a-kind photographs, most of which are taken by our own experienced photographer and News of Davidson founder, Jane Campbell.

When our very own Steph Curry came to town to be honored by Exit 30 on I-77 now being named for him, we were there. We watched a rousing Davidson College Men's Basketball game and took in the exciting halftime dedication of the Exit's new name. Every Davidson citizen needed the chance to experience this event, since Exit 30 is our exit.

The moving ceremony at the Town auditorium to honor Martin Luther King Jr was captured by our writers and our photographer.

The News of Davidson candidate forum before the November election was well attended and highly organized. It was moderated by a nonpartisan college administrator, and the audience’s questions for the candidates were knowledgeable and insightful.

We provided in-depth coverage of the of the Veterans Monument, “Flames of Honor,” and its dedication. We interviewed the sculptor, Douwe Blumberg, and gave insight into local veterans and their service to our country.

We covered Town Board meetings, affordable housing issues, and local businesses. Our restaurant guide gives detailed information about the amazing number of eateries in Davidson.

The art scene in town is vital and fascinating, with vivid galleries, shops, and featured artists.

Our nonprofits, who serve people of all ages, are a special emphasis of ours. We offer them space in our pages to highlight their work and tell us about their events. These organizations give Davidson a unique well of warmth and meaning, and we all benefit from their service.

We, your News of Davidson Team, hope that we can keep you informed and involved in our community. We ask for your support in doing that and for your story ideas and feedback. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. Come visit the News of Davidson site everyday and see what's new.

Will you be our Valentine?
