WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Davidson women's basketball team landed two members – Charlise Dunn and Katie Donovan – on the Atlantic 10 postseason awards list, the league announced Tuesday.
Dunn was placed on the A-10 All-Conference First Team and All-Academic Team, while Donovan earned a spot on the A-10 Second Team.
A native of Victoria, Australia, Dunn secured her third consecutive All-Conference honor after being named to the Second Team the previous two seasons. The lone senior on the Wildcats roster, Dunn started and played in all 31 games, leading the team in numerous statistical categories. She ended the regular season with career-high per-game averages of 15.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.8 steals.
Dunn tallied 25 double-figure games, including seven contests with more than 20 points scored and two 30-point scoring nights. Her regular season was highlighted by a career-high 33-point scoring outburst at the WBCA Showcase against No. 7 ranked Baylor, when she shot 10-of-20 from the field, 10-of-11 from the line and hit multiple clutch shots and free throws to send the game to overtime. Against George Washington, she recorded her third career 30-point game, tying the program record, and she shares the A-10 lead in double-doubles (11).
Donovan earns her first All-Conference postseason award after a career year shooting the three. The junior from Queensland, Australia, averaged 12.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting a highly efficient 45.5 percent from the field and 46.3 percent from beyond the arc.
The second leading scorer on the team, Donovan was the league's best 3-point shooter and currently ranks fourth in the nation in 3-point percentage. Her season was highlighted by a career-high 28 points against Ball State, when she went 10-of-16 from the floor and 7-of-8 from deep, leading the Wildcats to a program-best shooting night that included 17 made treys. She recorded 18 double-figure scoring nights and four 20-point games.
After recording 20 wins for the first time since the 2012-13 season and securing its second consecutive double-bye in the A-10 Tournament, Davidson will await the victor of game four for a quarterfinal matchup at 1:30 p.m. on March 6 in Henrico, Va.
