William Fred Morrow Jr., “Bill”, 91, passed away peacefully at the Mitchell Mack Hospice House on June 28th, 2026. Bill was born on October 16,1934 in Mooresville, N.C. to the late William Fred Morrow, Sr. and Nancy White Morrow.

Bill lived a life marked by quiet strength, steady devotion to family and to community, and a deep love for his wife Carolyn. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and commitment that will be remembered with gratitude and affection.

He was a graduate of Mooresville Senior High School and went on to earn his degree from Davidson College in 1957. Following college, he served as an officer the United States Army and was based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he carried himself with the same discipline and character that marked the rest of his life.

Bill was married to Carolyn Mott Morrow for 61 years, beginning on June 8, 1957. Together, they built a loving home rooted in faith, loyalty, and enduring partnership. He was a devoted father to Jeff, Terry, and Megan, and the strength of their family bond was one of the greatest joys of his life. The love that Bill and Carolyn shared was steady and lasting, forming a foundation that will continue to guide generations of his family.

Bill was the owner and operator of Safety Chevrolet, which later became Morrow Chevrolet, and he earned the respect of those around him through hard work and integrity using his business to reflect his strong sense of responsibility and caring for community and for those who worked for him.

He later worked as a realtor at Lakeland Realty, where his business acumen and dedication continued to serve others well.

His professional life reflected the same dependable, caring character that defined the rest of his days.

Bill was a proud member of First Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, where he taught Sunday school for many years and volunteered for the Logos program. He also served in the Rotary Club of Mooresville since 1963 where he gave his time and energy in support of the community he loved.

Bill also worked with the Chamber of Commerce and local economic development, recruiting critical industries to Mooresville in the early 1980’s. This work served as a cornerstone to the current economic vibrancy of the Lake Norman community.  

Through both church and civic service, Bill demonstrated a lifelong commitment to helping others and strengthening the bonds of community. His faith was lived out through service, encouragement, and a steady presence that blessed those around him.

Bill had a deep love for the outdoors, and he found joy in snow and water skiing, sailing, and backpacking. He also enjoyed tennis, photography, and flying small planes. Bill was known for his quick wit, warm heart, and unwavering devotion to his family, his community, and anyone in need. Those who knew Bill will remember not only what he did, but the gracious and faithful way he lived and the caring and honorable legacy he leaves behind.

“Mr. Bill” is survived by his sons Jeff Morrow and his wife Joanne Morrow, Terry Morrow and his wife Peggy Eurman; daughter Megan Morrow; grandchildren, Zak Morrow and wife Anne, Ben Morrow, Erin Morrow, Ryan Lynch, Nolan Lynch, and Alexis Lynch; and great-granddaughter Kaylee Morrow.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends time to gather in remembrance of Bill’s life and legacy. Details will be shared when they are available.
