By the time you read this, ilios crafted greek (icg), “a fast-casual Greek eatery” is either already open or hours/moments away from their official grand opening in Davidson.

The opening of their Davidson location in Sadler Square is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 17.

Prior to coming to Davidson, they owned and operated four restaurants in South Charlotte. Their website narrative about the history of the restaurant is:

“In 2003, three great friends opened Ilios Noche in south Charlotte. This concept was to be a fast-casual Greek restaurant that also offered adult beverages and fresh-baked items. That concept soon changed with the area’s needs and became what it is today. Now with icg we are giving the Greek fast-casual concept a second chance...This concept gives the offering of fast food, but fresh and healthy. It encompasses the authentic Greek meat cooking process and the simplistic seasonings and ingredients of true Greek food.”

Their menu is described as follows: “GF - Gluten Free / V - Vegan / VE - Vegetarian / Our vegetables are handpicked by our father, "Thanasi -Tommy Produce". We use only all-natural antibiotic-free chicken.”

The menu features Greek plates, pitas, gyros, salads, a variety of sides, and desserts – including baklava. There is also a kids’ menu.   The plates come with interesting sides including lentil cauliflower salad, seasonal vegetables, and Greek style fries.

In addition to individual meals and sides, icg also lists a “family meal” that feeds 3-4.

While their website currently only lists the four locations in Charlotte, we’ll keep an eye on it to see when Davidson goes online. They offer online ordering and catering on their website as well.

Fair warning, just looking at their online menu will make you hungry.

Ilios held a “soft opening” Thursday, following a ribbon cutting held in the morning. Thursday diners confirmed that the food tasted as good as it looks. The chicken souvla plate (with seasonal vegetables, a Greek salad, and pita) was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The pita sandwich and the spinach & feta pie received rave reviews from other diners.  The owners and staff were friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Ilios is a welcome addition to the Davidson community.
