Support Local Conservation: Sign-Up Today to Run, Walk, or Volunteer the 21st Run for Green

by Davidson Lands Conservancy | Aug 4, 2026

Davidson Lands Conservancy's (DLC) Run for Green returns on Saturday, September 26, with the 5K, 10K -- and the popular half marathon back on the schedule.

The race starts at 7:45 a.m. from the Davidson Town Green. The course winds its way through picturesque neighborhoods, over wooded greenways, and alongside winding streams beds. Last year the half marathon was suspended while the new roundabout finished construction. With that project completed, the half is back this year with an improved course, new finisher’s medal, and terrific crowd support.

Go the website for registration, which is open now. Registration continues until the morning of the race, but to guarantee a T-shirt, you must register by September 12.

For 21 years, Run for Green has been one of the longest running races in Davidson. Participants enjoy great course support, T-shirts for all participants who register prior to the deadline, full-color medals for all half marathon finishers, popular prizes for all overall and age group winners, and a fun post-race party sponsored by King Canary Brewing. Runners and walkers won’t just have a great time at the Run for Green, they’ll also make a significant impact on local conservation.

The Run for Green is DLC’s only annual fundraiser, and all proceeds help protect the places that make running and walking in Davidson great: Open land, tree canopy, greenways, streams, and wildlife habitat. Along the course, participants will pass many examples of DLC’s contributions to our town’s conservation work. Every registration supports these efforts.

Not running or walking? You can still make a difference. Volunteer, cheer on the participants, or get involved in our other efforts. Learn more, register to run, or sign up to volunteer here.
