Davidson College Presbyterian Church Screening the Documentary, “Sentenced”
Join Davidson College Presbyterian Church's (DCPC) Social Justice Committee for a screening of a documentary about children’s literacy called "Sentenced" - co-produced and narrated by NBA superstar and Davidson College’s own, Stephen Curry (and his wife, Ayesha)!!
Friday, August 28 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in DCPC's Congregation House (218 Concord Road).
“Sentenced” is an immersive and vulnerable exploration of the epidemic of childhood illiteracy through a series of braided character driven stories.
Filmed from the point of view of ethnically diverse adults and children who have never learned to read, “Sentenced” is a forceful yet tender tale of how literacy can free children from the cycles of generational poverty.
We also hope you will enjoy some FREE PIZZA (just let us know who needs a veggie or gluten free option)! If you are eating with us - the deadline to register is August 26!
