Davidson Lands Conservancy is pleased to announce that Dave Cable will become the organization’s interim executive director on September 4.

Dave is one of the region’s most respected land conservation experts. He has a long history with DLC, including a previous term as executive director from 2020 to 2024. He currently serves as one of DLC’s senior advisors. Along with the other members of an outstanding staff, Dave’s knowledge, experience, and passion will allow DLC to sustain momentum on important current projects and to pursue exciting new conservation opportunities in the Davidson area.

Dave will serve as DLC’s interim executive director until the board appoints a permanent executive director.

The DLC Board of Directors thanks Beth Wytiaz for her strong leadership over the past two years. Tom Shandley, Board Chair, remarked, “Beth’s dedication expanded DLC’s support base, raised its visibility, and created a new strategic plan for DLC’s future. Under Dave’s leadership, we are excited to continue DLC’s important work to protect vital natural resources and to connect our neighbors to them.”

Responding to the board’s decision, Dave said, “I am honored by the Board’s trust in me and look forward to building on Beth’s many and profound advances in DLC.”

This is an exciting and important time for land conservation in Davidson. The DLC Board hopes the Greater Lake Norman community will join Dave and the rest of the DLC team as we work to protect the natural resources that make Davidson a beautiful and healthy community for all of us.
