The Butterfly Dance

They dance as if the
world was not
heavy…
as if life’s burdens
were few
They fill empty air
with fleeting
beauty
as their end is
soon to be
But the end is not
their care
for tomorrow is
but a wind
unseen
I watch in wonder
as my feet rest
hard beneath
my all too busy
mind
Could constant worry be
be like their dance
and nature’s breath
fill my vision with
gladness?
Dance on, winged messengers
of magic wisdom
You know more than
my weary knowledge
Thank you
for the gift
of the
dance
