E2D Fifth Annual Digital Drive

by Eliminate DigitalDivide | Oct 1, 2026

E2D (Eliminate the Digital Divide) was founded in 2013 in Davidson, North Carolina, by the Millen-Keeley family. The organization began by providing 50 laptops to students at Davidson Elementary and has since grown to serve communities across North Carolina. Today, E2D transforms donated technology while providing paid workforce development opportunities for high school and early college students who refurbish laptops in E2D’s technology labs. E2D has now distributed more than 75,000 laptops and trained more than 250 student lab technicians.

As part of Digital Inclusion Week, E2D is partnering with NC TECH for its fifth annual Digital Drive on Friday, October 9. This is E2D’s first year participating in the statewide effort, serving as the Charlotte-area collection partner, while Kramden Institute will host the Raleigh-area collection.

Community members and businesses are encouraged to donate their used technology to help give devices a second life and expand digital opportunity across North Carolina. E2D’s Charlotte collection will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the E2D AvidXchange Lab, located at 920 Hamilton Street in Charlotte.

The Digital Drive is one of several ways E2D will recognize Digital Inclusion Week, October 4–10, and highlight the importance of access to technology and digital resources.
