MURRELLS INLET, S.C. – Highlighted by a 3-under 33 on his inward nine, Jack Lang fired a 70 on day two of the 2019 NCAA Regional at TPC Myrtle Beach.

Like Monday’s opening round, Lang made the turn in 37, before recording birdies on three of his next five holes. A bogey on the Par 5 last was his only blemish on the back nine, as he finished with six birdies on the day.

Ranked 77th Nationally according to GolfStat, Lang’s nine-shot improvement from yesterday moved him 16 spots up the individual leaderboard.

Lang will be paired with competitors from Middle Tennessee State and Robert Morris in tomorrow’s final round with tee times being announced later this evening.

In addition to leading Davidson to its first-ever Regional berth a year ago, Lang competed as a sophomore after capturing the 2017 Atlantic 10 individual title.

Lang joins Richard Fountain (2010-14) and Mike Spann (1967-69) as the only Wildcats to participate in three NCAA Tournaments.

A three-time all-conference performer, Lang led the Atlantic 10 with a 70.96 stroke average while earning Conference Player of the Year honors.

Last month, Lang was presented the 2019 Tommy Peters Award, which is given to a senior male scholar-athlete in recognition of outstanding dedication and contribution to intercollegiate athletics.

The recipient of three athletic scholarships: Dr. Tom Scott Golf Scholarship, Covington Golf Scholarship, and Southwood J. Morcott Golf Scholarship, Lang holds the school record for career Top-5 finishes with 13.
