The 2018 Davidson College Katherine M. Bray Women’s Leadership Conference will be held on March 17, 2018. Registration is required.

This year’s Davidson College Katherine M. Bray Women’s Leadership Conference  is titled “Women in Media: Lights, Camera, Take Action.” The conference will focus on portrayals of women seen in the media, and how to react to those as modern women.

The keynote speaker will be Anna Katherine Clemmons Clay, a 2001 Davidson alumnus currently working as a freelance writer for ESPN and other publications including the New York TimesUSA Today, and Sports Illustrated. Clay is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Virginia teaching in Media Studies and has expressed her excitement to be able to speak to and connect with the greater Davidson community.

The conference will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018, in the Lilly Family Gallery (Chambers Building) at Davidson College. Sign-in will begin at 8:15 a.m. with light refreshments included, and programming will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. The day will be structured differently from past years; it will include three engaging workshops with small group discussion and a catered lunch. Registration for the event is required.

The organizers of the event firmly believe that community members’ participation in the conference is part of what makes the event so special. It helps create an environment in which women of all ages and backgrounds can engage with and learn from one another. With that in mind, we would love to have as many community members attend as possible in the hope that they can share their personal experiences, insight, and expertise with aspiring women at Davidson and fellow women in the community.
