by | Mar 9, 2020 | Local Businesses

The Interior Design Society (IDS) of Charlotte will host a gala event for the Charity Designer Showhouse project on Friday, March 13 from 5 – 10 p.m. The three Showhouses open for tours the following day and will continue through April 4.

The three Showhouses situated in Davidson, NC are each valued at more than $1.6M and feature interior design by 45 prominent area designers. The Showhouse proceeds benefit Motor Racing Outreach in conjunction with The Hendrick Family Foundation, The Dale Jr. Foundation, and Operation Finally Home.

“Through the Designer Charity Showhouse project, we have the opportunity to not only bring together talented individuals in the building and design industry, but also support charities that are important to the community,” remarked Audrey Clawson, president of the IDS Charlotte chapter. “We are thrilled to showcase incredible talent and high-end design but, even more importantly, give back to our community.”

The gala event will give guests the opportunity to preview the homes before they’re open to the public, while enjoying an evening of live music, southern food, a live auction, and celebrity appearances by Interior Design TV star, Libby Langdon, and Rick Allen, the play-by-play commentator for NBC Sports NASCAR.

In addition to the opening gala, IDS will host several additional notable events, including:

  • March 18: Designer Panel moderated by Ashley Hotham Cox, editor-in-chief of Charlotte Home Design and Décor
  • March 26: Book Signing featuring Cathy Kincaid, author of The Well Adorned Home: Making Luxury Livable
  • April 2: Garden and Landscape Tour featuring Margot Shaw, editor-in-chief of Flower Magazine
