Ready, Set, Social Distancing in Davidson: Week 23
Friday
Give Back Friday @ Summit Coffee Co.
Aug 21 @ All Day
This Friday, Summit Coffee’s Davidson Basecamp location is proud to cap-off a week of back-to-school celebrations with a Give Back Friday initiative, giving a portion of sales throughout the day to our good friends at E2D.
The mission of E2D is to ensure that all students have affordable access to essential at-home technology and digital literacy training to support academic success and prepare students for college, careers, and beyond. E2D was founded in 2013 with a 12 year-old Franny Millen as the driving force. She recognized in her classroom and in her school the social inequity between those with computers and internet access and those without it. Since 2013, E2D has partnered with 140 schools and helped to eliminate the digital divide for more than 12,000 families.
In 2015, the National League of Cities, Next Centeruty Cities, and Google Fiber recognized E2D as “The Most Innovative Digital Inclusion” program in the US. More recently The Center for Digital Inclusion recognized E2D as one of the “Top 30 Technologists, Transformers, and Trailblazers.
