Editors’ Choice: How Do We Count the Ways?
First, a breathless thank you to our readers who have responded to our request for annual support of our area’s only nonprofit, all-volunteer home for news and events, News of Davidson.
Since we went live in September 2017, NOD has posted over 2,000 news stories and column contributions, and literally uncountable calendar events. Our stories celebrate neighbors, promote local nonprofits, events, and businesses, and share hundreds of community images.
To celebrate those three years of community news, we introduce a new feature, meant to remind you why you enjoy News of Davidson: We are looking back to lift up some of our favorite stories and columns from the last three years—all selected by a member of our volunteer editorial team.
To kick this off, NOD sports editor Jane Campbell suggested a story about a member of our team to kick off Editors’ Choice: News Guy and Photographer Bill Giduz, honored in November 2017 with the annual Burney Community Service Award. Read it and cheer.
We’ll repost these jewels about once a week through the end of 2020, partly as a way to spread a little joy when we all can use some, and yes, to encourage your support for this work we love to do.
If you don’t see your favorite story, we count on you to let us know.
